Set up or troubleshoot your PC using SupportAssist for Home PCs


In this video, we will demonstrate how to set up your system and resolve system issues using SupportAssist. To begin, click the Troubleshooting tab. The Troubleshooting page enables you to setup your system by downloading and activating Microsoft Office programs, updating to the latest version of Windows installed, and configuring other system settings such as your browser homepage, desktop wallpaper, and automatic software updates. You can also scan specific hardware components, perform a thorough scan of your system, and troubleshoot issues that may occur on your system. The How-to Videos section provides links to video tutorials to troubleshoot hardware, software, Internet connectivity, and operating system issues. Let’s see how to manage automatic updates for software applications installed on your system using SupportAssist. In the Set up my PC section, click Turn on automatic updates for my software applications and, click Open the Microsoft Store. On the Settings page, turn on or turn off the Update apps automatically toggle switch to enable or disable automatic updates. Let’s see how to change your desktop background wallpaper using SupportAssist. In the Set up my PC section, click Change my desktop wallpaper background and click Open the Background panel. On the Background page, select your desktop background wallpaper and close the Settings window. Now let’s see how to troubleshoot your system when it is running out of hard-drive space. In the I want to troubleshoot my PC section, click My PC is running out of storage space, click I’m getting alerts about low disk space, and then click Run Now.
